ČSOB Terminal Displays "Ended by User" Message
If the terminal displays the message "Ended by User," it could mean that the customer canceled the transaction by pressing a button on the terminal.
It may also mean that the terminal is locked. You can unlock it by pressing the F4 button. Then, click on the "Terminal Lock," confirm the choice to "Unlock," and enter the password 11111111 (8 x 1). If the terminal reports that the code is incorrect, please contact ČSOB support.
Pairing the Mobile Payment Terminal (mPOS / rPOS) - Ingenico ICM122
You’ve just received your payment terminal and would like to start accepting card payments as soon as possible.
For it to work correctly, you need to pair the terminal with your tablet first to ensure proper functionality. But don’t worry – this process is simple and can be done by anyone.
Let’s first check how to prepare the terminal for pairing, so everything goes smoothly.
Make sure the terminal is sufficiently charged. On the right side, next to the power port, you will find the only button (1) used to turn on the terminal (it also resets the terminal). During the pairing process, the terminal must be unplugged from the charger!
Wait until you see the device name, "DEVICE NAME," followed by the terminal’s specific ID in the format POP-XX-XX-XX (2). You will also see a prompt on the screen to press the green button (press GREEN key), but we will only proceed with this after pairing with the tablet, so please do not press the green button just yet.
Now it’s time to prepare your cash register device (tablet or POS system) for pairing.
Check that Bluetooth is enabled in your Android settings (3). The terminal should be visible in available devices as POP-XX-XX-XX (5).
Now, log into the Storyous POS application and go to the "Devices" section (6).
Here, you’ll see a list of accessories for your POS system. For the payment terminal, select the "Add Device" option (7). On the right side of the screen, you will see the option to add your terminal, including its name (POP) and PIN code (8). Please write down this PIN code, as it is essential for successful pairing.
Press the red terminal tile, and the system will prompt you to enter the PIN code in the system dialog box.
Once the PIN is entered, you can press the green button on the terminal to confirm the pairing request sent from the tablet. Now, your terminal should appear as "In Range" and "Online" in the "Devices" section. On the terminal display, you will see the CSOB logo and a crossed-out eye symbol, which indicates that the terminal is not visible to other Bluetooth devices (9).
Your terminal is now operational, and you can begin accepting payments through it!
Troubleshooting - Re-pairing the Terminal
First, remove the terminal from the "Devices" list in the Storyous POS application, then also remove it from the paired devices in the Bluetooth settings of your Android operating system.
Reset the terminal by holding down the power button for a longer period until the screen displays "DEVICE NAME: POP-XX-XX-XX," then repeat the entire process.
If you still cannot pair the payment terminal, adjust the settings on your tablet:
- Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > find Storyous POS > App Info > Permissions > select Location and enable it to "Always allow," or just turn this option on.
Also, check the Location settings and turn it on again if needed.
If you see "ENDED BY USER" on the payment terminal, press F4 to unlock the terminal. Confirm by pressing the green button (OK).
To unlock, press OK and enter the password 11111111 (OK).
