Large LAN printer

In this section, we will learn a few basic tasks needed to work with the Xprinter XP-C260-L printer, which uses 80mm rolls and operates via a Wi-Fi connection.

Loading the Paper Roll

We recommend ordering paper rolls from us, as we offer only high-quality German-made thermal paper.

Open the top of the printer and insert the roll into the internal compartment, ensuring that the paper unwinds upward, as shown in the image. If the paper is running low, a red panel on the front of the printer will light up.

Self-test

A self-test is a printout with the device’s technical details. To print it, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure that the printer is plugged into the power outlet.
  2. Turn off the printer.
  3. While the printer is off, press and hold the FEED button (the large button on the front).
  4. Keep the button pressed and turn the printer on. Continue holding the button for about 5 seconds (if you hold FEED longer than 20 seconds after turning the printer on, it may return to factory settings, and you will need to set it up using a LAN cable and a laptop). The printer will then produce a longer paper strip with technical details — a self-test. The most important information on the self-test includes the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway.

Here’s what the self-test looks like:

Diagnostics

  • Power Indicator: If the blue Power light is on, the printer is correctly connected to the power supply, and the power is functioning properly. If the Power light is off despite the printer being plugged in, please check the connection of the power adapter (it consists of two parts and must be securely connected).
  • Error Indicator: If the red Error light is blinking, there may be an issue with the automatic cutter, overheating of the printhead, or an empty paper roll. If the Error indicator blinks, try unplugging the printer for 5-10 minutes to let it "rest."
  • Paper Indicator: If the red Paper light blinks, the printer is indicating a paper shortage.
