In this article, we will cover some basic tasks required to work with the Cashino PTP-II mobile printer, which uses 58mm rolls and operates via Bluetooth.
Loading the Paper Roll
We recommend ordering paper rolls from us, as we offer only high-quality German-made thermal paper. Open the Cashino printer by pressing the sides of the cover and insert the roll inside the printer, ensuring the paper unrolls upwards, as shown in the image.
Pairing the Printer with Your Tablet
- Plug the printer into a power outlet and turn it on.
- In the Android settings on your tablet, open the Bluetooth section and ensure the Bluetooth adapter is turned on (3). From the list of available devices, select the printer under the name PTP-II or Star Micronics (4).
- To pair the devices, you will need to enter the PIN code. For Cashino, the code is 0000, and for Star printers, the code is 1234. After entering the correct PIN, the printer will move from the available devices to the paired devices section in the Bluetooth settings.
- In the Storyous POS app, go to the Devices section (5), select the printer on the left side, and print a test page (6). The printer will print a confirmation to ensure everything is working correctly.
Self-test
A self-test is a printout containing the device’s technical details. To print the self-test, follow these steps:
- Turn off the printer by holding the Power/Mode button.
- Press and hold both buttons at the same time. The device will print a page with technical details. Look for the physical address on the printout:
- For Cashino, it will be listed as BDA,
- and for Star printers, it will appear as StarBD Addr.
Diagnostics
On your printer, you will find two LED indicators – red and blue.
-
Red Indicator:
- If the red indicator is on continuously, the device is powered on.
- If it blinks, the printer is on but inactive (idle).
-
Blue Indicator:
- It blinks quickly while charging.
- It blinks slowly when the battery is low.
- It stays on continuously when the device is fully charged, and you can disconnect it from the charger.
-
Both indicators blinking simultaneously:
- If both indicators are blinking, the printer is reporting a paper shortage.
