This article is intended for Teya payment terminals with the new version of the app.
Learn how to connect the payment terminal with the Storyous POS, how to accept card payments, how to process a payment return, or cancel the last completed transaction. To get started, you need to set up both the payment terminal app and the Storyous POS app.
Connecting the Payment Terminal with the Storyous POS
Step 1: Set up the Payment Terminal and Payments App
- Separate Payment Terminal Connected to the POS
- Launch the Payments app.
- Configure the app if it hasn't been set up previously.
- In the top-right corner of the main window, click the Menu button.
- Go to Point of Sale.
- Enter your four-digit security PIN.
- Enable the Allow payment mode from POS feature.
- Return to the main app menu so the payment terminal locks and can communicate with the POS.
Note: If your payment terminal is connected to the Storyous POS, it must always be in a locked state to ensure proper communication. A locked terminal displays the Teya screen with access to the settings. |

- Launch the Payments app.
- Configure the app if it hasn't been set up previously.
- Navigate to the Storyous app.
Step 2: Set up the Storyous POS App
- Log in to the Storyous POS using your Teya ID.
- Click on the ≡ Menu button in the top-left corner.
- Go to ⚙️ Settings.
- Select Payment Terminal.
- Click on + Pair Terminal.
- Select the payment terminal you want to pair with the POS:
- POS Link (integrated terminal) – by serial number (S/N)
- AIO (mobile waiter) – Teya terminal
- The selected terminal will appear as paired.
Important: If the terminal doesn't appear for pairing in the Storyous app or still shows your old terminal, you must log out of the app completely.

Your payment terminal is now ready to accept card payments sent from the Storyous POS.
Accepting Card Payments with the Storyous POS
- Create a New Order on your Storyous POS.
- Click on the Pay All button in the bottom-right bar.
- Select Pay by Card.
- The payment will automatically show on the payment terminal.
- Swipe, insert, or tap the card on the terminal.
- Upon a successful transaction, the terminal will display Approved.
- The order in the Storyous POS will automatically close as paid.
Payment Return and Cancellation with the Storyous POS
To return or cancel a card transaction with your Storyous POS, follow the steps below:
- In the top-left corner of the main Storyous app window, click the Menu button.
- Go to the Receipts section.
- Find the receipt you want to return or cancel.
- Click the receipt and the Cancel Receipt button.
- Choose a reason for the action.
- The terminal will display the details of the payment you're returning.
- On the terminal, click the Confirm button. You’ll have one last chance to cancel the action before confirming.
- To print the receipt for the customer, click the Customer Receipt option.
- To print the receipt for the merchant, click the Merchant Receipt option.
Frequently Asked Questions
Card Payment Cannot Be Accepted
If you encounter issues with accepting card payments from your Storyous POS:
- Ensure that both the payment terminal and the Storyous POS are connected to the internet.
- If the internet connection is stable, try logging out and logging back into the Storyous app on your POS. Then, check the connection between the terminal and POS in the Storyous app settings or use the System Check function. Try processing the card payment again.
If issues persist, check if location permissions are enabled on both the payment terminal and the Storyous POS.

- Swipe down from the top of the screen → Click the arrow on the right to expand → Slide right → Long-press the Location icon → Check if location permissions are enabled. If not, enable location → Select App Permissions → Ensure that Teya Payments has location permission enabled.

- Open ⚙️ POS Settings → Search for "Location" → Ensure location tracking is enabled. If not, enable location → Choose App Permissions → Select Storyous → Ensure location is set to Allow Always. (This option may also be found by going to Settings → Apps & Notifications → Permission Manager → Location → Storyous – Allow Always). Note: Steps may vary depending on the Android version.
