This article is intended for Teya payment terminals with the latest version of the application. You will learn how to connect the terminal to the POS, accept card payments, refund a payment, or cancel the last transaction.
1. Connecting the payment terminal to the POS
Step 1: Setting up the payment terminal
If you are using a standalone terminal connected to the POS:
- Open the Payments app.
- If necessary, complete the configuration.
- Click on Menu in the upper right corner.
- Go to Point of Sale.
- Enter the 4-digit security PIN.
- Enable the option Enable Pay at Counter mode.
- Return to the main menu – the terminal will lock and be ready to communicate with the POS.
Important: The terminal must remain locked for proper operation. The Teya home screen will be displayed with access to settings. |
If you are using an All-In-One device:
- Open the Payments app.
- Complete the configuration if necessary.
- Open the Storyous app.
Step 2: Setting up the Storyous POS
- Log in to the Storyous POS using Teya ID.
- Click on ≡ Menu in the upper left corner.
- Go to ⚙️ Settings → Payment Terminal.
- Click on + Pair Terminal.
- Select your terminal:
- POS Link (integrated terminal) – by serial number (S/N)
- AIO (mobile waiter) – Teya terminal
- The terminal will appear as paired.
Import: If the terminal does not appear in the Storyous app, try logging out and logging back in using Teya ID. If an old terminal is still displayed, click on the three dots in your profile and select "Forget saved login credentials". |
Note: A user with the newbie role cannot set up terminal pairing. |
Note: The serial number (S/N) can be found on the back of the terminal. |
2. Accepting a card payment
- Create a New Order in the Storyous POS.
- Click on Pay All (bottom right).
- Select Card Payment.
- The payment will appear on the terminal.
- Tap, insert, or swipe the card.
- After a successful transaction, Approved will be displayed.
- The Storyous POS will automatically close the order as paid.
3. Refund or cancel a payment
- Click on ≡ Menu → Receipts.
- Find the receipt you want to refund.
- Click on Cancel Receipt.
- Select the reason for the cancellation.
- The transaction details will be displayed on the terminal.
- Click on Confirm (you can cancel before confirming).
- Choose a printing option:
- Customer receipt
- Merchant receipt
4. Troubleshooting – Unable to accept a card payment
If you are experiencing issues with accepting payments:
✔ Check the internet connection on both the POS and the terminal.
✔ Log out and log back in to the Storyous app.
✔ Verify the terminal connection in Storyous settings or use System Check.
✔ Check location permissions:
- Teya Terminal → swipe down → click on Location → Allow always.
