Multiple businesses within one administration

Are you managing multiple businesses within one administration?

If your company has multiple businesses or branches, you have a common web administration for all of them. In the top-left corner, you can always choose which business you want to manage. If you don't make a selection, in the Reports section, you will see data from all businesses combined. If you're interested in a specific business, simply click on it.

Be careful about the END OF DAY! If you have different end-of-day settings (in the Businesses section, under the Business Settings tab) for each branch and you view data for all businesses in the Reports section, the data will always show from midnight to midnight. When managing multiple businesses, it’s most important to have the correct menu settings for each of them.

PRODUCT CATEGORIES

Product categories are always shared across all your businesses. However, it’s easy to set up so that only selected categories appear in a specific branch.

Example: Imagine we have a Pizzeria and we’ve opened a second business, a Café. In the web administration, we’ll have categories like Starters, Salads, Pizza, Pasta, Risotto, Coffee, Desserts.
These categories are, by default, shared across all businesses.
However, in the Café, you don’t need categories like Pizza and Pasta.

What to do about this?
Simply don't add any products to those categories, and the category will not appear in the Café's tablet. Similarly, in the Pizzeria, don't add any products to the Desserts category, and you won’t see that category in the Pizzeria’s tablet.
Be careful—if you delete a category, it will be deleted for all businesses. However, you won’t lose the products. They will automatically be moved to the Uncategorized category. You can simply recreate the category and, through bulk actions, move the products from Uncategorized to the desired category.

PRODUCTS
If you already have products created in one business and want to create a menu for another business, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • You cannot create a product with the same name that already exists in the administration of another business within the same web administration.
  • For example, if you offer Cappuccino in the Pizzeria, the system won’t allow you to create Cappuccino a second time for your Café. Instead, you can copy the product from the first business to the second one using bulk actions.

You can even copy the product with its recipe, which will make your work easier and faster. You won’t need to recreate the recipes.

If you copy products this way, it’s always the same product.
In the Reports section, this will make it easier for you to find information on how the product was sold in each branch or overall. If you rename or change the price of a product in one business, it will automatically be renamed and updated in the other business. If you assign it to a different category, it will change its location in the categories for both businesses.
