Important:

Configuration
The cash register application may require you to enter a License Key. This is a 4-digit numeric code associated with the activation or configuration of the cash POS. To obtain the license key, please contact our customer support line. The key is valid for 2 minutes from the moment it is generated.
Permissions
The cash register application requires permissions to access the storage and functions of the POS.
If you have not granted these permissions before:
- You can do so when the application requests them, or by going to Settings on your POS (the gear icon on the device’s home screen).
- Click Apps → Storyous, and under Permissions, enable Storage and Phone, Location and devices.
Deactivation of the POS App
The license for using the POS app on individual POS devices can be deactivated. If you wish to deactivate the POS app for any of the reasons explained below, you must contact our customer support.
|
Important: Before contacting customer support regarding license deactivation, please prepare the serial number of your POS (there should be a label with the serial number on the back of the device) or the device number from the Storyous application. You can find the device number on the login screen; after clicking it, the cash register’s serial number will also be displayed. You can also find it in System Check (the gray tablet in the top right corner) or in Menu → Settings → Cash Register → Device Name. |
Seasonal Business
- If you operate a seasonal business and do not want to pay the license fee for every month of the year, you can request deactivation of one or more devices. The deactivation can not last shorter than one month, meaning that it is not possible to deactivate the device only for a weekend (e.g., on Friday and Sunday) and reactivate it shortly after.
- To reactivate the POS app, simply log into the app, and your device will be automatically activated.
- If you are using the All-in-One mobile waiter, it must be returned. You can find more information in our article Seasonal business churn and All-in-One device rental.
Damaged POS
- If your POS is damaged and cannot be claimed under warranty, it needs to be deactivated so that you are not charged a monthly fee.
- In case of a warranty process, we will lend you a replacement POS for the duration of the claim process, and this device will be automatically activated upon your first login. Call our customer support to deactivate the original POS so you are not charged.
- You can find more information in our article Device Warranty Claim.
Inactive POS
- If you have a POS in your business that you are no longer using (or temporarily not using), it can be deactivated so that you are not charged a monthly fee.
- To reactivate the POS app, simply log into the app when you need to use it again, and your device will be automatically activated.
