Factory Reset for 14" Tablet

A factory reset is useful when you're experiencing performance issues with your 14" tablet. You should use it in cases such as:

  • The tablet is running slowly,
  • The tablet is freezing,
  • The tablet cannot connect to Wi-Fi,
  • Bluetooth cannot be turned on/off, etc.

Recommendations for smooth operation

To avoid system slowdowns, we recommend the following steps:

  • Regularly restart or turn off the cash register outside of operating hours. This will free up the device cache, which contributes to smoother operation.
  • Check the device memory and remove any unnecessary files that may affect performance.

By following these steps, you can significantly contribute to the more efficient operation of your device.

How to Perform a Factory Reset on the 14" Tablet

There are two methods to perform a factory reset on your tablet: a software reset and a hardware reset. Both methods achieve the same result, but in some cases, a software reset may not be possible.

Important: After performing a factory reset, your tablet will be blank and you will need to contact our customer support to install and configure the Storyous app.

In addition, you must check in the checkout app that all accounts have been synchronized - you can verify this in the system check. If you see any unsynchronized accounts, please wait until the synchronization is complete, otherwise these accounts may be lost.

Factory Reset (Software)

  1. Open the Settings on your tablet.
  2. Look for Backup & Restore.
  3. Tap Factory data reset.
  4. Your device will reset to its factory settings. Afterward, call our customer support for the installation and configuration of the app.

Factory Reset (Hardware)

  • First, disconnect the tablet from the power supply by unplugging the cable.

  • Locate a small hole under the power connector. You will need a tool to press the button inside the hole, ideally a SIM card ejector tool or a small pin.

  • Prepare the 14" tablet so that you can easily press the button with the pin, and then reconnect the power supply to the tablet. You don’t need to hold the button for too long—just a few seconds (approximately 20 seconds, including the time for reconnecting the power cable).

  • After a moment, the tablet’s system recovery will start, which looks like this:
You will need to select the option “wipe data/factory reset.” To select this option, use the pin to press the button inside the hole. Once you reach the desired option, confirm your selection by pressing the Power button.

  • A confirmation screen will appear asking you to confirm with “yes.”

  • Within a few seconds (5–10), the tablet will begin wiping and resetting to factory settings.
  • In the lower-left corner, you will see changes being made to some data. Once the factory reset is complete, you will need to restart the system by selecting “Reboot system now.”

  • Once the process is complete, please contact our customer support for the installation and configuration of the app.
