Recipes are used to link a specific product with one or more stock items. When a customer orders a product and it is processed at the checkout, the system will automatically deduct the required quantity of the product from available stock. However, it is important to note that a recipe can only be created if you already have a product and one or more stock cards created.
Note: Stock cards will start to be deducted only after you properly pair the products using the recipe. This means that they will not be deducted retroactively if you create the recipe after the product sale. |

Practical Examples
Practical Example 1:
- Business Type: Restaurant
- Product: Margherita pizza
- Stock Cards: one tomato, two pieces of mozzarella, three cloves of garlic, etc.
In the recipe, you determine that for making one pizza, you need 2 tomatoes, for example. Then, when you sell this one pizza at the checkout, the specified amount of tomatoes will be deducted from the stock.
Practical Example 2:
- Business Type: Florist
- Product: Valentine’s Day Tulip Bouquet
- Stock Card: tulips
The florist has 5000 tulip stems in stock. Due to the recipe between the product and the stock card, each time a tulip bouquet is sold, 1000 stems will be deducted from stock.
Practical Example 3:
- Business Type: Wine Shop
- Product: Wine by the glass / Wine in bottles
- Stock Card: wine bottle
If you receive wine bottles from your supplier, you can easily stock them in your inventory using the stock-in function. In the case of selling wine by the glass, you need to set a conversion from bottles to liters in the stock card. If you know that one bottle of wine holds 0.75l, you enter this number in the unit conversion, and in the recipe, you enter the number 0.2l (the volume of one glass). Even though you stocked wine bottles as individual units, the wine glasses will be deducted in liters.
