This feature is primarily for security reasons, preventing anyone other than the active staff member from accessing the cash register and performing actions under a different logged-in user.
The automatic logout setting is configured directly on the tablet and can only be set by users with the Operations Manager or Owner role.
How to set it up?
Go to the main menu of the Storyous sales application and navigate to Settings -> Cash Register.
Click on Automatic Logout Settings to adjust the logout time. The system will automatically log out the user if there is no activity on the tablet for the selected time limit.
For example, if you set the automatic logout to 30 seconds, the user will be logged out after 30 seconds of inactivity. To perform any action on the cash register again, the user will need to log in again.
Automatic logout will only occur if there is inactivity in the sales section of the application. If you are in another tab (Devices, Receipt Overview, Cash Flow, etc.), if a dialog window is open, or if you have an unconfirmed or unpaid order open, you will not be logged out.
IMPORTANT!
The user will not be automatically logged out if:
- A dialog window is open.
- An order is open and has not been confirmed (seated at a table or paid).
- A tab other than Sales is open (e.g., Devices, Receipt Overview, etc.).
