I have become a VAT payer

If you have become a VAT payer, you need to inform us so that we can activate VAT for you in the system. In this article, we will guide you step by step through what needs to be done to make the transition to VAT payer status as simple as possible for you.

  1. Contact our customer support by phone, e‑mail or chat (icon can be found the right bottom corner on this page). You can find the contact details here.

  2. If your VAT ID is not yet listed in the ARES system, you need to send us the confirmation of VAT registration from the tax office, or the VAT ID itself. Please send it from your main or invoicing e‑mail address to pomoc@storyous.com together with the activation date.

  3. Before we enable VAT rate settings for you in Storyous, we recommend to do daily closure. This prevents a situation where part of the day’s sales is recorded with VAT rates and part without them.

Once the above conditions are met, a customer support agent will enable the VAT rate setting feature for you in Storyous. From that moment on, a new VAT column will appear in your web administration in the Setup → Products section.

Now all you need to do is choose the correct VAT rates for each product. If you are unsure which rate to assign to a particular product, we recommend consulting a qualified accountant.

Tip: To speed up setting VAT rates for individual product categories, use the Bulk actions feature.

Important

  • After setting VAT rates in the web administration, you must log out of and back into the Storyous application on the POS so that the new settings are displayed in the POS system.
  • The recalculation does not work retroactively; VAT will start to be included in the Sales Overview from the activation date onwards.
  • Our system is not connected to the ARES system and the VAT ID is not transferred into the system automatically upon activation, which is why you need to contact us about this change so that we can enable it manually in the system.

Once your system is configured and prepared in this way, accounting data will start to be collected. You can find and export them in the Bills → Income summary section.
