Returnable packaging (Slovakia )

You will use the Returnable packaging function if you sell and accept returnable packaging. You need to set up two products – one for selling and one for receiving the given returnable packaging. How to set up these products is described in this article.

Selling returnable packaging

To create returnable packaging, you need to create a new product. The name can be for example Returnable packaging; fill in the price, category and unit. It is then important to select the type Returnable packaging, which will automatically set the VAT rate. After that, just save the product.

When selling, on the receipt the Returnable packaging product has no VAT rate and is not included in the VAT summary.

TIP: If you are interested in automatically posting returnable packaging for certain products (cans for drinks in cans, glass bottles for beers, or bottles for drinks in plastic bottles), you can use the Menu additions option, where you create as many add-on types as the kinds of returnable packaging you offer (so if you only have drinks in cans and plastic bottles, there will be two types of add-ons). Then, following the example in the image below, correctly link the products to which the given packaging belongs.

You need to set the min. and max. number of add-ons to 1 and select only one type of add-on (when you create the category name for Returnable packaging – can, you add ONLY the add-on with the product Returnable packaging – can).

In the POS the add-on will be displayed as follows; you always need to tap the + button to add the add-on and confirm it.

Receiving returnable packaging

If you accept returnable packaging and then refund the customer the returnable deposit, the following process is also for you. Create a product with a name such as Returned packaging in the Products section, following the template in the image; do not forget to set the item type to Returnable packaging and to enter a negative amount (e.g. -0.15 €).

You will then find this product in the POS with a negative amount, and it will also appear on the receipt.
