Comparing the monthly settlement from the payment terminal (payouts for card payments) with the reports in Storyous can be confusing, because each of these reports works with the period slightly differently. Below you will find a short overview and a simple step-by-step guide.

Important:
|
Monthly settlement from the Teya payment terminal
1. What exactly the monthly settlement contains
- The total amount that was paid to your bank account during the settlement period.
- The amount after all fees have been deducted.
- It is not the sum of all card payments made by guests in the calendar month, but what actually arrived in your account.
2. When you receive money from card payments
You do not receive money from cards on the same day the guest pays on the terminal. The payout always takes place on the next working day:
- payments from Friday are paid out on Monday (if it is a working day),
- payments from weekends and public holidays are paid out on the next working day,
- the payment terminal cut-off takes place at 4:00 a.m.. Payments made before this cut-off are therefore settled together and are paid out on the next working day.
Therefore, the statement works with the date on which the money was paid out to your account, not with the date when the guest paid by card.
3. Why the settlement does not match the calendar month
Because of the time shift between the payment day and the payout day, the monthly settlement may differ from the calendar month:
- the monthly settlement usually does not include the last calendar day of the month, because payments from this day are paid out only at the beginning of the next month,
- on the other hand, it includes the last working day of the previous month and the payments from the weekend or public holidays assigned to it.
- the amount in the monthly settlement is always the sum of what was actually paid out to your account in the given period.
Comparison procedure
To make the comparison as accurate as possible, you need to export an overview of card transactions for the same time period separately from Storyous and from the Business Portal, and then compare these exports.
1. Exporting receipts from Storyous
For the comparison you need from Storyous a detailed list of all card receipts (CSV)
- In the top menu open Accounts.
- On the left select Receipts.
-
At the top set the dates:
- From: the last working day of the previous month
- To: the penultimate working day of the current month
- In the filter select Payment type: card.
- On the right click the three dots (⋯) and select Export to CSV.
2. Exporting receipts from the Business Portal
- Log in to the Business Portal.
- In the left-hand menu click Takings.
- Then click Transactions.
-
In the top right set the dates:
- From: the last working day of the previous month
- To: the penultimate working day of the current month
- Click Export and confirm export to CSV.
This way you will obtain a list of all card transactions from the terminal for the same period as in Storyous.
3. Comparison and the most common differences
After the export you will have two files (Storyous and Business Portal) which you can compare in Excel or another spreadsheet programme.
When comparing, keep in mind that:
-
Tips
- are included only in the card transaction in the Business Portal,
- in most cases they are not part of the receipt in Storyous, which is why the amount in the Business Portal can be higher.
-
Meal cards
- are usually not included in the overviews from the Business Portal,
- in Storyous you may have them as a separate payment type.
-
Non-integrated terminal
- if the terminal is not connected with Storyous, manual errors can occur (for example, a receipt closed as cash even though the customer paid by card, or a transaction not entered).

Note: If you have an integrated Teya terminal and:
please contact our customer support. It helps if you prepare the date and time of the payment, the amount, and, if possible, the transaction ID from the Business Portal or the receipt number from Storyous. |
