Income summary

From the receipt data, a summary sales overview is automatically created in the Bills > Sales overview section. It is an overview that tracks all sales from 00:00 to 23:59 of the given day and displays them broken down by payment method and VAT rate

This overview is used mainly for accounting – so that you can see how much you received in cash, by card or by other methods on a specific day and in which VAT rates.

At the bottom of the overview you can always see the total of all days and all payment types for the selected period, so you can immediately see how much you have taken in total.

Exporting the Sales overview

You can export the Sales overview for individual months if you need documents for accounting, archiving or further processing:

  • PDF – suitable for quick viewing, printing or archiving,

  • CSV – suitable for opening in Excel or importing into your accounting system, where the data can be further edited and processed.

Tips

  • The End of day setting in the Other settings section affects the calculations in the Reports section (e.g. sales reports according to a shifted end of day), but does not affect the Sales overview in the Bills section – it always follows the fixed period 00:00–23:59. For this reason, it is not possible to directly compare:

    • the values in the Reports > Sales overview section if you have set the End of day to a time other than 00:00,

    • with the values in the Bills > Sales overview section, which are always for the calendar day 00:00–23:59.

  • You also need to bear in mind that card payments in the Sales overview may not match the monthly statement from the payment terminal or the Business portal.

    • Statements from the payment terminal show how much money was paid to the bank account on each day.

    • In the Sales overview, Storyous tracks when the payment was posted on the till.

    • Therefore, the amounts in these two outputs may differ and cannot be compared completely “one to one”. A detailed guide on how to correctly compare card payments between Storyous and the Business portal can be found in the article How to compare card payments – Storyous and the Business portal.
