Solutions to common tablet technical problems

Tablet Freezes and Doesn’t Respond

  • Try restarting the entire tablet—hold the power button down. If that doesn't help, try a hard restart by holding the power button and the volume down button for 20-30 seconds.

Tablet is Slow and Freezing

  • Ensure that only the Storyous POS app is running on the tablet. If other apps like Spotify are running, they take up memory and slow the tablet down. Close those apps and restart the tablet.
  • If the tablet is older, wear and tear may cause it to slow down.
  • A factory reset may help speed up the tablet. Please contact customer support for a step-by-step guide through the process.

Tablet Won’t Turn On/Charge

  • Make sure you're turning on the tablet correctly by holding the power button until it vibrates, then releasing it and waiting for the Lenovo logo to appear.
  • If it doesn’t turn on at all, plug the tablet into the charger. Once the charging cable is inserted, the tablet will vibrate, and a red light will indicate that it's charging. If the light doesn't turn on or flickers, you may need to try a different charging cable.
  • Try different chargers, outlets, and charge it for a longer period before trying to turn it on again.

Tablet Disconnects from Wi-Fi or Won’t Connect

Wi-Fi Disconnecting:

  • Verify that the tablet remembers only the password for one network—the one it should work on.
    • In the settings under WLAN/Wi-Fi, find stored networks and forget the password for other networks (depending on your Android version, either long-press the network and select "Forget Network," or use the gear icon or three dots to open additional options).

Wi-Fi Not Connecting

  • Similar to the disconnection issue, remove the network and reconnect. If the tablet still doesn’t connect, you may need to contact your internet provider.

14" Tablet Won’t Connect to Wi-Fi

  • If your router is using WPA3 encryption, some of our 14" tablets may not be able to connect, as they support WPA2 encryption. Switch your router settings to WPA2 or WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode to resolve this issue.

Device Won’t Connect to Network (Mobile Data)

  • Ensure that the SIM card is inserted correctly in the tablet and restart the device. If you are using a data SIM card from us, ensure that mobile data is enabled in the tablet’s settings.
  • If you have mobile data enabled and still can’t connect, check if the LTE signal is available from your operator. You can find this information on your operator's official website.
  • If the issue persists, it could be due to insufficient data on the SIM card. Contact customer support to verify your data balance and top it up if necessary.

DNS Server Settings

  • If your tablet shows incorrect DNS server settings or you can't connect to Wi-Fi, you may need to adjust the DNS settings.
    • Go to Settings → WLAN → Select the network → Tap to Edit the Network → Set the IP address to Static.
    • Advanced Options: Set DNS Server 1 to 8.8.8.8 and DNS Server 2 to 1.1.1.1 (or 8.8.4.4).
