Solutions to common tablet technical problems

If you’re having an issue with your tablet, below you’ll find an overview of the most common situations and simple steps to resolve them. This article provides general solutions valid for all tablet types, as well as specific procedures based on the device type.

Problem with turning on the tablet

If your tablet won’t turn on, try the following steps:

  1. Check that the power cable is properly connected to both the adapter and the tablet.
  2. Make sure the adapter (the black box between the cables) is firmly plugged in.
  3. Try plugging the tablet into a different socket.
  4. If possible, try another adapter or charging cable.
  5. After connecting to power, wait a few seconds – some tablets turn on automatically.
  6. If the adapter makes unusual noises or appears damaged, we recommend replacing it (we do not service adapters).

If the tablet still doesn’t respond → repair.

Lenovo tablets (7″ / 8″ / 10″)

  1. Turn on the tablet by holding down the side button until the Lenovo or Concord logo appears.
  2. Check that you are using the correct charging cable (USB → microUSB).
  3. Try charging the device for longer – if it’s completely discharged, it may take some time to start.
  4. Try another adapter or power socket.

If the tablet doesn’t respond → repair.

Tablet is frozen or unresponsive

If the tablet is frozen or doesn’t respond to touch:

  1. Make sure the device is connected to power.
  2. Disconnect it from the adapter and reconnect it after a few seconds.
  3. Wait – the Android system usually restarts automatically, so there’s no need to press any buttons.
  4. If the tablet still doesn’t respond, you can try performing a factory reset.
Note: Please note that this will erase all data, including the Storyous app, which will need to be reinstalled and configured again. Therefore, contact our customer support before performing this step.

If none of this helps → repair.

Lenovo tablets (7″ / 8″ / 10″)

  1. If the tablet freezes on the Lenovo or Concord logo screen, hold the power button down for longer to restart the device.
  2. If it still doesn’t respond, try a hard reset: press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously until a menu appears.
  3. Use the volume buttons to navigate up and down.
  4. Use the power button to confirm.
  5. Select Factory reset.
Note: Please note that this will erase all data, including the Storyous app, which will need to be reinstalled and configured again. Therefore, contact our customer support before performing this step.

If the device still doesn’t start, it probably needs a software reinstall → repair.

Problem with internet connection

If the tablet won’t connect to the internet:

  1. Try restarting the device.
  2. Check in settings that Wi-Fi is turned on.
  3. Make sure the tablet is connected to the correct network.
  4. If you’re using Wi-Fi and a LAN cable at the same time, disable one of them – duplicate connections can cause errors.
  5. Remove saved networks and re-enter the password for your desired Wi-Fi. In Settings → Network & Internet → Saved networks, you can check whether the tablet remembers multiple networks.
  6. If the router doesn’t detect the tablet (doesn’t see its MAC address), the issue may be in the network configuration – we recommend contacting your network administrator or our customer support.
  7. If nothing helps, you can try performing a factory reset.
Note: Please note that this will erase all data, including the Storyous app, which will need to be reinstalled and configured again. Therefore, contact our customer support before performing this step.

14″ tablet

  1. If the tablet doesn’t connect at all and only shows “Saved” under Wi-Fi, it means the router doesn’t see the device or isn’t assigning it an IP address.
  2. A temporary solution is to connect via a LAN cable.
  3. You can also restart the tablet or turn it off for 20 minutes and then turn it back on.
  4. You can also set a DNS server:
    1. In Settings, select Wi-Fi and hold down the name of the network you’re using.
    2. Choose Edit network and set Static IP address.
    3. In the Advanced settings, set the DNS servers:
      1. DNS 1: 8.8.8.8
      2. DNS 2: 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.4.4
  5. If your router uses WPA3 security, the tablet won’t be able to connect. Change the encryption to WPA2 or a mixed WPA2/WPA3 mode.

If the problem persists, contact your network administrator or our customer support.

Tablet can’t connect to mobile network

  1. Make sure the SIM card is properly inserted.
  2. If you’re having trouble connecting, check that mobile data is enabled in settings.
  3. Check that you have good signal reception in your area – you can verify this with your mobile carrier.
  4. Make sure you have enough data. If you’re using a SIM card from us, call our customer support so we can check and, if needed, increase your data plan.

Screen flickering

  1. Check the adapter – a part of the cable often doesn’t fit tightly.
  2. Disconnect and reconnect the power supply.

If the screen still flickers → repair.

Swollen battery

This problem occurs when charging continues for a long time after reaching 100%. We recommend avoiding overnight charging.

If the battery is swollen → repair.

Screen reader mode (TalkBack)

  1. Open Settings → Accessibility → TalkBack.
  2. Turn off the Use TalkBack option and confirm with OK.

Tablet only charges up to 80%

This function protects the battery, but you can disable it if you want a full charge.

  1. Open Settings → Battery → Battery protection.
  2. Deactivate any options that limit charging to 80%.
