Factory reset of 10'' Lenovo

A factory reset is useful when you're experiencing performance issues with your 10" tablet Lenovo. You should use it in cases such as:

  • The tablet is running slowly,
  • The tablet is freezing,
  • The tablet cannot connect to Wi-Fi,
  • Bluetooth cannot be turned on/off, etc.

Recommendations for smooth operation

To avoid system slowdowns, we recommend the following steps:

  • Regularly restart or turn off the cash register outside of operating hours. This will free up the device cache, which contributes to smoother operation.
  • Check the device memory and remove any unnecessary files that may affect performance.

By following these steps, you can significantly contribute to the more efficient operation of your device.

How to Perform a Factory Reset on the 10" Tablet

There are two methods to perform a factory reset on your tablet: a software reset and a hardware reset. Both methods achieve the same result, but in some cases, a software reset may not be possible.

Before performing a factory reset, make sure that all sales have been synchronized in the POS application. You can verify this in the system check section (click the tablet icon in the upper right corner).
If the device synchronization status is red, please wait until the synchronization is complete. Otherwise, some sales data might be lost.

Factory Reset (Software Method)

  1. Open Settings on your tablet.

  2. Go to System → Reset options → Erase all data (factory reset) → Erase all data.

Factory reset (Hardware method)

  1. If the tablet is turned on, turn it off by holding the Power button (Power Off/On). The screen will go black.

  2. Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Up button at the same time (on some models you may need to press the Volume Down button or all three buttons together) until the Lenovo logo appears.

  3. When the logo appears, release the Power button and keep holding the Volume Up button until the Android Recovery menu appears. In this menu, use the volume buttons to move up and down, and confirm your selection with the Power button.

  4. Select Wipe data / factory reset → Yes – delete all user data → Reboot system now.

Downloading the Storyous Application

  1. Once the tablet starts up, connect it to a Wi-Fi network in Settings → Network & Internet, and then open the web browser.

  2. Enter doc.storyous.com in the address bar.

  3. Download the Storyous APP, Teamviewer App and Teamviewer Add-on – Lenovo M10 HD/FHD.
You need to allow the download and then confirm the installation from unknown sources.
