The cash drawer communicates with the application via the printer. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the printer is correctly connected to the tablet for proper functionality.
Check if all cables are properly plugged in and verify that your printer is printing correctly. Also, confirm that the cash drawer is properly connected to the printer.
If you have selected receipt printing and you hear a sound, as if the drawer is attempting to open but fails, check if the key is in the correct position. When the key is in the neutral position, the drawer will automatically open when the bill is closed on the tablet in the Storyous POS app. If you leave the key turned all the way to the left, the drawer will remain closed after completing the payment, but it will emit a sound.
The drawer can also be opened manually by turning the key to the right in the drawer’s lock.
