Activating a replacement device

If you have received a replacement device, its activation depends on the type of device. In this article, you will find a clear step-by-step guide for tablets, an All-in-One mobile waiter device with a terminal, printers and a standalone payment terminal.

Devices covered in this article:

Tablets

A replacement tablet is activated simply by signing in to the Storyous app as usual. Your app login details are the same as your web administration login details.

Procedure for users in Slovakia

Important: If the replacement tablet is also a fiscal device, you must move the original CHDÚ card from the damaged device to the replacement device.

Steps:

  1. Move the CHDÚ card from the original device to the replacement device.
  2. Turn on the replacement device.
  3. Restart the device twice.
  4. Open the Storyous app.
  5. Sign in using the same login details you normally use.

Procedure for users in the Czech Republic

Steps:

  1. Turn on the replacement device.
  2. Open the Storyous app.
  3. Sign in using the same login details you normally use.

Important: Contact our Customer Care in these cases:

  • if the replacement tablet is meant to replace the main cash register,
  • if the original damaged tablet has not yet been deactivated, because deactivation does not happen automatically,
  • if you cannot sign in and the system asks for a licence key.

All-in-One mobile waiter with terminal

After receiving the replacement device, sign in to the Storyous app and activate the terminal in the Teya Payments app. The connection between the Storyous app and the Teya Payments app is then completed automatically during the first card payment.

Procedure for users in Slovakia

Important: You must move the CHDÚ card from the original device to the replacement All-in-One device. In the All-in-One device, the CHDÚ card is inserted under the battery.

Steps

  1. Move the CHDÚ card from the original device to the replacement All-in-One device.
  2. Insert the CHDÚ card under the battery.
  3. Restart the device twice.
  4. Sign in to the Storyous app.
  5. Open the Teya Payments app and start the terminal activation.
  6. Scan the QR code using the Teya app or your phone camera and complete the activation by following the on-screen instructions.
  7. In the last step of activation in the Teya Payments app, select the serial number of the original damaged device that is being replaced. This step activates the payment gateway on the replacement device and deactivates the payment gateway on the original device.
  8. The connection between the Storyous app and the Teya Payments app is then completed automatically during the first card payment made in the Storyous app.

Procedure for users in the Czech Republic

Steps

  1. Sign in to the Storyous app.
  2. Open the Teya Payments app and start the terminal activation.
  3. Scan the QR code using the Teya app or your phone camera and complete the activation by following the on-screen instructions.
  4. In the last step of activation in the Teya Payments app, select the serial number of the original damaged device that is being replaced. This step activates the payment gateway on the replacement device and deactivates the payment gateway on the original device.
  5. The connection between the Storyous app and the Teya Payments app is then completed automatically during the first card payment made in the Storyous app.

Important: Contact our Customer Care in these cases:

  • if you do not know the serial number of the original damaged device,
  • if the original device still had an active Storyous licence when the issue was reported and remained active until the replacement device arrived,
  • if you cannot sign in to the Storyous app and the system asks for a licence key,
  • if the Teya Payments app shows the wrong business or the activation cannot be completed.

Printers

The process depends on the type of printer:

  • LAN printer

    First, connect the printer cable to the Net port and plug the other end into the router. Then follow the guide large LAN printer.
    If the printer is shown as offline in Storyous, check or rewrite the IP address in printer settings according to the self-test and then sign out of the app and sign in again.

  • Bluetooth printer

    For a replacement Bluetooth printer, simply unpair the original printer in Android settings and pair the new one.
    The printer is paired via Bluetooth as device Printer001 and the PIN code is 0000. Then open Storyous → Menu → Settings → Printers and check the device status.

  • Cashino PTP-II mobile printer

    For the Cashino printer, the process is the same as for a Bluetooth printer. In Android settings, pair the new PTP-II device, use PIN 0000 and then check the printer settings in the Storyous app.

Important: Contact our Customer Care in these cases:

  • if the original printer has not yet been deactivated,
  • if you want to set up receipt printing on the replacement printer,
  • if you need to move order printing in bulk from the original printer to the replacement one,
    • if you use Print Rules, our team cannot make this bulk change for you internally, because Print Rules work based on table sections and must be assigned to specific products.

Standalone Teya terminal

If you have only received a replacement payment terminal and want to connect it to your cash register, follow the guide Storyous Integration with the Teya Payment Terminal.

The terminal must first be activated in the Teya Payments app and then paired with the cash register in the Storyous app.

Steps

  1. On the terminal, open the Teya Payments app and complete the device activation.
  2. In the last step of activation in the Teya Payments app, select the serial number of the original damaged device that is being replaced. This step activates the payment gateway on the replacement device and deactivates the payment gateway on the original device.
  3. If the terminal is in manual mode, open Cash Register System → External ePOS Integrations and select Cash Register System.
  4. In the Storyous app, open Menu → Settings → Payment Terminal.
  5. Choose to pair a new terminal and select both the terminal model and the serial number of the device.

Important: Contact our Customer Care in these cases:

  • if you do not know the serial number of the original damaged terminal,
  • if the Teya Payments app shows the wrong business or the activation cannot be completed.
