Daily menu

In the administration, you can create a daily menu for any business. Here, you can set up a lunch menu for specific days of the week along with the number of available portions. Setting up and managing your daily menu in the administration helps staff when ordering in the Storyous POS application.

To create a daily menu, select the Businesses (1) tab in the top menu bar. In the left menu, click on Daily Menu (3).

Important: before you start, don’t forget to select the specific Business (2) in the top left corner.
Example business: company XY owns a burger bar and a café. Business A is the burger bar, and Business B is the café. With the Storyous POS system, you can manage multiple businesses, so always make sure to switch between them correctly when setting up the menu.

How does the daily menu look in the Storyous application?

On the tablet, the Daily Menu appears as a separate product category (12), but with variable items. If you have entered the number of portions when creating your daily menu in the administration, the number of remaining portions (13) will be displayed next to the specific product.

The Daily Menu category will only be visible on the tablet on the days when the daily menu is saved.

Product category: Daily Menu - Archive

For better organization, we recommend creating a category Daily Menu - Archive, where you can store all previously created daily menu items. If you do not check the visibility option for products, the category itself will not be available in the POS system.

Thanks to this category, you can link individual products in recipes to stock cards and track them in reports. When you repeat a dish in the menu, it will appear in the suggestion box with the linked recipe.

Printing

Below, you can see a print preview of how your daily menu will be printed. If you skip a day of the week, it will not appear on the printed document.

If a product does not have a description, only its name will be displayed. Conversely, if a description is provided, the name will not be printed, and the description will replace it.
