Menu additions serve as additional options that you can assign to a specific product or to a product category. You can use them, for example, when choosing a side dish, the level of meat doneness, or the type of milk for coffee.
Compared to creating a separate category and regular products, Menu additions have the advantage that they appear to the staff directly after clicking on a specific product. This means the staff immediately see the relevant options and do not forget to offer them during the order – for example, alternative milk with coffee.

Creating Menu additions
You can set up Menu additions in the administration under Businesses → Menu additions. First, make sure that you have selected a specific business in the top left corner.
To create a new group, click + New category and fill in the basic details:

Min. number of Menu additions – determines how many options the staff member must select.
- For example, for a steak you can set that it is necessary to choose at least one cooking preference.
- If you set the minimum to 0, the Menu additions window will appear, but the staff member can skip it.

Max. number of Menu additions – determines how many Menu additions can be added.
- If you leave the field empty, the number of Menu additions is unlimited.
- Then select for which products or product categories the Menu additions should be displayed.
- Then simply add the names of the Menu additions and, if needed, their price.
Save the changes by clicking Save.
Menu addition without stock vs. Menu addition with stock tracking
- If you do not need the Menu addition to be deducted from stock, you can simply create it directly in the Menu additions section. This option is suitable, for example, for notes or specifications such as rare, medium, or well done.
- If you want the Menu addition to be deducted from stock, it must also be created as a product and linked to a stock card via a recipe.
How Menu additions work in the app
To make newly created or updated Menu additions appear in the cashier app, you need to log out and log back in.
After that, Menu additions behave according to the configured minimum:
- if the minimum number is set, for example 1 or 0, the Menu additions window appears immediately after clicking on the product,
- if the minimum number is not set, you need to click and hold the product for a moment.
In the Menu additions window, you can add or remove individual items using the + / - buttons. When a Menu addition is added, the product price increases by the Menu addition price. If you remove an ingredient, the base product price does not decrease.
| Note: When ordering a larger quantity of products, set only the quantity of the base product and leave the Menu additions at 1x. If you increased the number of Menu additions as well, their price would be multiplied too. |
Editing and deleting Menu additions
You can edit an existing Menu additions category using the pencil icon.
If you want to remove Menu additions, you can:
- delete the entire category from the menu with three dots,
- or remove only a specific Menu addition within that category.
If the Menu additions are only seasonal or otherwise temporary, you do not need to delete them straight away. You can simply turn off their visibility on the device and enable them again later when you want to use them again.
